The Saalachtal is the perfect starting point for your ski holiday! Here in Unken you'll find the family-friendly and economic Heutal ski area. The Loferer Alm is highly recommended as the perfect family ski area.
Only a few kilometres from Lofer you'll find the Tyrolean Steinplatte ski area. And if you are looking for a really large ski area, only 20 km from the Saalachtal you'll find the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn with 270 km of slopes, 70 modern lifts and 60 ski huts.
Nordic skiing - regardless of in the classic style or skating - is a very healthy sport, that uses the entire body. So Nordic skiing is an increasingly trendy sport.
In the Saalachtal in Salzburg you can practice this sport on more than 80 km of wonderfully groomed trails. Whether on the flat valley trail, the high-altitude trail in the mountains or very active on trails with more or fewer climbs and descents.
